India has been moving from offline application process to completely online applications especially in terms of applications related to licensure and product approvals of drugs, new drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, etc. We will hereby be providing you with series of articles helping you to understand the Online Drug Licensing process in India. The online drug licensing portals are also popularly known as SUGAM. SUGAM is a Hindi word which in English means ‘EASY’. Current article is focused on Sugam portal registration.

There are various portals on which registration can be done namely:

  1. cdscoonline.gov.in
  2. cdscomdonline.gov.in

Registration on these government portals require submission and uploading of specific documentation. Any issue with the documentation may lead to rejection of registration or delay in registration on these portals. Also, while registration, it is very important to understand the access rights required on the portal. If the access rights are not suitably selected then one may end up having access right of the services which the user is not intending to access.

Another website of CDSCO which provides information on new guidelines, notices, gazette notifications, approval status of drugs, recommendations of Subject expert Committees and other administrative information is www.cdsco.gov.in. No registration is required to visit this website.
